How much time do people spend taking care of themselves in a day? You will spend more time in vain living a busy daily life, driven by something that must be done within a certain period of time, or trying to imitate someone by taking their place or following in someone's achievement. I would like to say welcome to everyone who comes to the gallery. It is sincere respect for people to be an audience with valuable time and intimacy of their own busy lives to listen to other people’s stories.
I hope that people will not take much time to digest my work or take it as a difficulty, but just look at it, project themselves, and have a conversation with another ‘me’ within internal beings of theirs for the first time in a long time. Romance, as I define it, is not about love, but about missing something that has been forgotten, something that cannot be achieved again, missing something, remembering it in your mind, and getting to know it. I believe people have completely met themselves and seized it at the place where the beginning of their memories start and end.
It is only forgotten but they sure know to have a conversation of their own, and I just provide them space. If people feel the freedom of not being pressured or tied down by anything, even for a brief moment, in the space I created, that is a romance. <Romantic Sedentaries> is not representing the work, but refers to the audience who came to see my work.
